Recently I posted I’d just assume Pingeton will stay on as coach .
I still believe that to be likely.
If todays loss were to move the coaching/ program the to a new realm , I’d think the rest of the season would have to continue the collapse . That would mean very few wins from here to the end, and that is quite possible.
Few thoughts….
Pingeton is almost an institution at MU , it will in some ways be a sad day to ask her to step down.Her decency is becoming rare to see , though not so much maybe in the women’s side.
The MU / SEC job should be desirable .
Obviously the entire staff likely would be. replaced.
There would be a threat of some of the 23 recruits pulling their commit. That would be unfortunate, but should not be considered in the decision to make a change.
Losses of current players would be an acceptable risk.
It’s the era of the transfer and with some hires you might actually be in a plus talent position in year one.
I’ve felt and stated often that recruiting at MU at the SEC level is a tall task. That may or may not be true , but it is obvious that this staff just can’t do it.
The next coach at M U ..; first … needs to have a record as an ace recruiter.
The reality….MU is not going to recruit and or beat LSU, SC, or Tennessee… and that’s just for starters in the SEC. Some coaches DO have the talent/ personality / network to find players somehow , somewhere,
Finally as a fan I’m showing some signs of apathy towards the program as they are now less enjoyable to watch and follow,
