In 4 years as a head coach Gates has developed zero high

school players into even remotely good college players.

Current Cleveland State roster:

Highest scorer Tristan Enaruna is a transfer from Iowa State who never played for Gates.

2nd highest scorer Tae Williams is a JUCO transfer who never played for Gates.

3rd highest scorer Deshon Parker is a transfer from James Madison and Appalachian State who played one year for Gates averaging 4 pts per game.

4th highest scorer Drew Lowder is a transfer brought in by the new coach who never played for Gates.

Best Gates high school recruit is Jayson Woodrich who is in his third year averaging 7 pts per game. Last season playing for Gates he averaged 11 minutes and 4 pts per game.

He uses transfers. He has never developed a high school recruit. Zero. He left behind one of the worst rosters in college basketball for the next coach at Cleveland State.
