And Trump was as much deep state and used it to his advantage as he could. He just changed some swamp creatures, when he said he was going to drain the swamp. there was a link provided by Sal that talked about how the gov't and social media worked together during the whole protest stuff too.

Probably they realized how using social media during the 2016 election was something the government was missing out on.
