education, they are not, they exist for teachers only. That is the theory anyway, in reality, they exist for political power and personal gain.

Yes, teachers' unions should be abolished as well as all government unions. When the people you are negotiating with do not have any skin in the game there is a huge problem with the system. In the case of government unions, it is even worse because the people negotiating the new contracts often turn around and receive contributions that come from those same funds. It is a tidy little circle that should never be allowed to exist.
