His "DeSanctimonious" comment right after the November election was a massive mistake. He had a chance to appear as a true leader of the party. But that is not his make-up. He is who he is, and when he feels threatened he simply lashes out. And when he took one of the most impressive GOP wins in recent memory and immediately attacked he reminded everyone of why so many dislike him strongly.

He also strongly backed a number of high profile candidates who did not fare well. This shows the Trump "brand" to be vulnerable.
