Any other take is pure stupidity.
Now, the purpose of the embedded FBI & ANTIFA was not really to get Trump supporters illegally jailed - it was to stop the request for a 10-day investigation into the elections.
That was the actual objective and that objective was achieved.
The rest is one big smokescreen.
Though I do appreciate J6 as a sort of instant litmus test of anyone I talk to - if they characterize it as anything but a peaceful protest gone wrong I know I'm talking to a full-on brainwashed minion/retard - that helps in guiding the conversation...
