which wiped out major communities - they would have had a much rougher go. Old muskets were no match at all for bows and arrows. Not even close. But, winners write the story and continental conquest is not for the faint-hearted. Still, treatment by the United States of America much later on of the indigenous people was pretty criminal. Land was also a shared resource not for ownership.
