Hillary. For various reasons, she was even more disliked by voters (at least in the states that mattered). He probably would have beaten Biden in 2016 too. I guess he doesn't have to be brilliant he only needs to be better than the opposition. As long as we continue to nominate weak and divisive candidates, Trump-like candidates on either side can win.
