voted you off, but whatever.
I also wouldn't consider myself a "Trumplican", though I'm not quite sure what the definition is.
In 2016 I was trying to persuade people not to vote for him in the primaries. I held my nose & voted for him, given the alternative, and hoped for the best.
Despite his obvious problems he was actually a far better president than I would have expected, especially with respect to the abortion issue. He was also good in his judge selections. His economics seemed too close to that of the Dems. The corrupt government/Deep State was fighting with him constantly, stabbing him in the back at every opportunity. I think that helped expose them and it is good that he was opposed to them, but it crippled whatever additional good he might have done. The Deep State has tentacles everywhere & that apparently included some in his cabinet. Draining the swamp is easier said than done.
The neocon military industrial complex had influence over him, but he also seemed to put the brakes on them at times, which is a good thing. I think we would have had less chance of war with Russia &/or China with him in office vs Biden or any other Democrat, but I guess we'll never know for sure.
Bottom line, despite his flaws, I think he was head and shoulders over Hillary, O'Bama, Biden or any other Democrat who had a chance of winning.
