Fact: Drink has yet to sign or develop an SEC-level QB since he was hired. That is, unless he's waiting to spring Horn on UT next week in a surprise move.
Fact: He's hasn't signed an SEC-caliber running back since coming to Mizzou. I do believe Badie was signed by his predecessor. So far, not much in terms of production from the backs Drink has signed, and certainly nobody at a level of Badie (unless, again, he's hiding his best running back somewhere deep in the depth chart).
Fact: Drink hasn't been able to attract elite offensive linemen or develop diamonds in the rough. In a "line-of-scrimmage league" like the SEC, that spells failure more often than not.
Fact: His offense shows all the signs of a poorly coached, unprepared squad, from costly penalties at the worst times to fumbles, interceptions, missed blocks, dropped balls, etc., etc., etc. It's a comedy of errors and I, for one, don't find it very funny.
Fact: Slow starts, especially in Saturday morning games, have been the hallmark of this team. Our team usually doesn't wake up until the second half, and usually not until the fourth quarter.
Fact: His play-calling is so predictable and unimaginative, it's not even funny. SEC defensive coordinators must salivate whenever they see Mizzou is the next opponent on their schedule.
Fact: Drink coaches not to lose instead of coaching to win. It will be interesting to see how long that will last before his team (especially the defense) just plain gives up and throws in the towel.
Fact: If not for our defense, we might have three wins this season: La Tech, Abilene Christian and New Mexico State. You can really hang your hat on those wins.
Okay, have at it, boys. Tell me where I'm wrong.
