It's certainly there for the taking and I have to give Drink credit for that. The team might not have played great in most games, but they've been competitive in all but the 1 against KState. They didn't quit, when they easily could have this season.
Now, after 8 games, its pretty well established the defense is going to show up every game and dominate. Even the K-State and Georgia games were mainly the fault of the offense causing the defense to eventually wear down.
They have a legit shot at Kentucky and Arkansas and a gimme vs NMST. That would give them 7-5 and 4-4 in conference.
The Tennessee game on the road seems out of realistic expectations, but will be fun to see if our defense is up to the challenge of shutting down their explosive offense.
Arkansas will also be an interesting test because of their great QB.
We've held 17-0 leads at half the past two games and beat a tough opponent on the road fairly easily last week.
This does appear to be a team on the rise, learning how to win.
A solid finish to this season would go a long way. It'd be much better if we do have the coach we need right here already and about to hit his tipping point, than having the wrong fit and need to start over.
These next 4 games are rather huge. Mainly because we have no idea what Desiree Francois-Reed would do if it went south.
