though. It's not going to stop you altogether but it limits you. My company has a few public-facing people and for years, all but one was verified and he was also the least followed. He ended up with about 50k followers but that was 50% the amount of a co-worker who started at the same time and had the same number of followers to start.

It will be interesting to see how it affects a person's ability to get followers when anyone with $8 can get one.
