with its D, we would have the #1 team in the country.

Our near-win over UGA wasn't a fluke. What *was* a fluke however, were our losses to Auburn (the fumble in OT) and Florida (spotting them 10 points).

The record doesn't reflect this team's ability. As you mentioned, if not for bad luck this Missouri team would be 7-1 right now and in control of its own destiny in the East.
