did the all to familiar thing that coaches do and that is to take the foot off the pedal. In this game you could literally tell where it occurred.
They were rolling then they got the ball back with good field position with 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Then went all conservative with 3 very stupid plays not even trying to get a first down. I think they were trying to burn out the rest of the clock and it went horribly bad.
Then they got their backup QB hurt on an absolutely dreadful playcall with 3 and 5/6, a designed QB run that had no chance. Thing is even the announcers said before that even happened that KSU better limit the number of times they exposed their QB to runs or someone was gonna get hurt.
They will likely lose this game because of inexplicable coaching decisions that flew in the face of common sense. How many times does it have to be said that you don't just let up because you have what you think is a comfortable lead? How many times have you seen teams try to go into a prevent type, run out the clock type game and end up losing?
You can bet they will realize their mistakes when they get into the film room.
