Went to a local ice cream place with the family last night

Ordered a banana split

ONLY GOT ONE HALF OF THE BANANA

As in, banana completely split in half lengthwise, but only one side in the banana split

I didn't order "some bananas and ice cream", or a "banana half". A "split" very clearly defines something that has been divided into halves
