can be traced back to the poor QB play.
Opposing defenses can stack the box knowing that our QB can't throw more than 10 yards downfield.
DLs can rush the QB every play because they know the LBs and safeties are playing up to support against the run.
Corners can play tight on WRs because they know they're not going to get challenged deep and can jump routes because they know his only option is to throw short.
On offense Drink is limited by Cook's lack of arm strength and inability to see defenses.
His ONLY viable play calls are runs or quick dump off passes, which are tough considering everything above.
He has to call a relatively conservative offensive game plan if there's any hope of giving the defense some time to breathe.
I'm good with him relying heavily on the run game. But I'd love to see more screens, TE passes, roll-out passes, etc. if for no other reason it gives the defense something to think about and maybe forces them to respect the threat of a pass a little more.
