are getting get-of-jail free cards from psychiatrists like a kid gets a bathroom hall pass, then yes, you're going to get the response you did. The mentally ill just don't get out of prison like you think they do, and even if a psychiatrist makes a recommendation that they can re-enter society, its only one cog in the wheel, and that wheel turns slowly.

You then turn around and mention David Hinckley, and --whoops-- it proves my point. It took almost 40 years for him to get released.

He's the exception, not the norm.
