Manufacturing and other industries will thrive on cheap, illegal labor for as long as it is available. No need to adapt when there is no reason to adapt. It’s why restaurants were not quick to implement kiosks and other technology until the cost of labor forced their hands. Once wages and benefits hit a certain threshold, we saw a new wave of change and innovation to address the crazy mandated wage hikes.
