Floyd protests didn't involve an election, especially a federal one, but I'm all for prosecuting folks who do property damage or cause injuries to officers while "protesting". Free speech doesn't give you a right to destroy property or injure people. And sure, it's politically motivated - as were the events that caused those people to be there in the first place.
