Drink has a lot of arrogance about him but he can't be saying things like Cook is our quarterback. Cook is a 3rd string quarterback at this level. You paid a ton to get this Freshman now is the time to make the move. We did the same with Lock back in the day.
At this point lets just call this... we're going to be lucky to win FOUR games. At least you can blame the season on starting a freshman right? How do you explain to recruits we finished winless in the SEC and got stomped in every game?
Well we started a FRESHMAN quarterback but next year he's going to be lights out.
You need that built in excuse to explain why you sucked this year.
Secondly, perfect game for the kid to start against a team you should destroy.
Let him get his feet wet and start the KID it really is now or never. You can't be thinking about saving this kid freshman season because he's going to play baseball. The kid is an MLB prospect... if that kid gets drafted after his JR year he's gone anyway.
