Faced with a fan scene out of control in the '95 summer tour, the band wrote a letter to the fans - I call the QFA letter, I got one in StL that summer. For quite a while Garcia would not sign it. He said he has no standing to suggest others, his fans, stop fcking with his income, his tour, his work. His take, those dipshts who were fcking things up had every right in the world to do so and Garcia felt he had no business telling others how to behave. He was also pretty much past politics but was a buddy of Mythologist Joseph Campbell. The world has been a darker place without the Light Garcia graciously shone.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
