To suggest we did not have abundance 50 years ago, no buffets in '72 is ludicrous. Irony rings here as it was in'73 that average blue collar wages vis a vis the rest of the economy peaked.

Secondly, the bullsht tactic here, used all the time by many on the Right is that there is ONE choice - full-bore Capitalism or all out Socialism. That is a false premise. Much of the industrialized world apply a balance of Capitalism and Socialism. And they, those nations that apply such wisely enjoy higher quality of life, better standards of living than the USA - where full-bore Capitalism dare not be challenged. (As for the attack on Unions, no thanks.)
