want to segregate its to protect their culture.
Or to be among people who understand them.
Or, and this is my favorite one it's from the article, Escape white violence.
Black people don't want to be around white people to escape violence. Like they do in Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC, Memphis, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Austin, Denver, LA, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, and St. Louis.
If blacks can just stay clear of white people, they'll be safe.
