But overall, Mississippi (as well as Louisiana) have lost populations over the last two years. Alabama has stayed roughly the same as has Missouri. Texas is creating jobs in a very big way but mostly in the blue cities of Houston and Austin. That said, I've lived in the blue city of Houston most of my adult life and the quality of life is not all that great.
