5 couples. We started at Clinton on Thursday about 9:00, was hot as hell by the time we reached Sedalia. Stayed in the Hotel Bothwell, which was very nice, had a nice meal at Station 5 down by Amtrak.
Weather turned for the better the next three days. Sedalia to Rocheport on Friday, stayed at Clark Street Lodge, ate at Blufftop Bistro for dinner. Saturday started with breakfast at Meriwhether Cafe (awesome as per usual), lunch at Cooper's landing, beer at the Burg in Hartsburg, dinner at Canterbury Winery in Northern Jeff City, and lodging for $7 at the Tebbets Hostel (we overpaid). The Saturday route was definitely the prettiest.
Longest day was Sunday - Tebbets to Dutzow trailhead, shuttled into Washington, stayed at a surprisingly awesome hotel called River Sirens. Fiasco of a dinner at 514 Chop House (they ran out of everything).
Easy day to St. Charles on Monday, with stops at Augusta and lunch at Defiance roadhouse. Finished at St. Charles, shuttled back, took the day off Tuesday to relax.
Nice little 5 day trip, lots of beer and laughs, only one tumble among the whole group (which resulted in quite a bloody knee).
Would recommend. The Katy Trail is a Missouri gem.
