to defend yourself if the girl defrauded you by saying/showing she was an adult.
In this case, the man picked up a drunk girl in a bar. It would be reasonable to assume she was at least 18 (and logically 21) if she was in a bar. Under LA law, that is irrelevant and he can't present any defense if charged....
and oh, by the way.... that statute of limitations in LA is THIRTY YEARS!!!!
