WADR: Mizzou doesn't seem to do it that way

I would suggest that Mizzou (and most schools) don't use the standard fixed asset accounting methods when they report the income from football and other sports.
I.e. When Missouri joined the SEC, it spent a substantial sum on renovating and improving Memorial Stadium. To my knowledge, no chargers have ever appeared on any football inocme stastement released to any outside entity.
Further, the renovations were apparently financed with bonds and the bond interest has never been reported as an Athletic Department Expense.
Missouri recently built the South End Zone of Memorial Stadium. Total cost was 99 million. No principal has ever been charged to the Tiger AD nor has any of the principal payments on the bonds.
Consequently, the various public reports understate the expenses of the football program and I would suggest if properly reported, the program would essentially lose money every year.
