Unlike most people, I think Elon has been successful because he has long term vision and an understanding on how to get there.

I don't think he's very concerned about stock fluctuations. That's the difference between entrepreneurs and management that doesn't own stock but gets bonuses for making very short term numbers, even at the expense of long term success. This has been a problem with many companies that are publicly traded and run by uninvested hired help.
