Total EU energy imports from Russia for all of 2021 were 108 billion for all of 2021. They will be significantly less this year. A few weak sisters justify doing something the rest asked them not to. Big deal. it won't affect the larger picture much at all.
And it's not "billions per day." More like $300 million or so per day for 2021 and much less this year. We'll see how it ends up for 2022. Meanwhile, Russia is spending close to a billion per day attacking Ukraine, where they are losing. Not to mention the losses to Russia's economy from the embargo, which will get much worse before it gets better.
Of course, you post is the kind of disinformation you get when you cite an anonymous writer that doesn't use real sources for their numbers. Zero Hedge used to be better, but for several years now it's been off the rails. Media bias services say that when it comes to correctness of information, Zero Hedge is considered "Untrustworthy," also saying, "Overall, we rate ZeroHedge an extreme right-biased conspiracy website based on the promotion of false/misleading/debunked information..."
