I agree but teachers unions are only part of the problem

with education. Much of the stupidity in public schools is being forced from the outside. Yes, they usually find willing partners within the schools but individual teachers do not really have the power to affect much change to the system. That has to come from the district level or above. Even the teachers unions in their own cannot do much damage.

Too many different social and political organizations think schools are their own private Petrie dishes in which to conduct social experimentation.
