Why do some here attribute our problems over the past decade

to being in the SEC?
They've got it completely backwards.
Our problems have been *in spite of* membership in the richest and most privileged athletic conference in the nation, completely self-inflicted by the CLOWNS who ran our university and AD at the time.
IN FOOTBALL, the response to the 2015 protest and subsequent hiring of Barry Odom.
IN BASKETBALL, the mind-boggling decision to hire a 60 year old D-2 coach.
The SEC had *nothing* to do with that.
All the SEC does is give us the resources we need to upgrade facilities and hire excellent coaches, along with every game being nationally televised and access to the most fertile recruiting territories in the country.
Mizzou will never learn that in order to win, you have to play by the same rules as everyone else... and that requires getting off the moral high horse.
On a positive note, I'm optimistic about Drink and the FB program... but our AD will probably find a way to f*ck that up as well.
