In the early years of Trump's presidency xxx produced a series of columns for The New York Times alleging collusion with Russia in the 2016 campaign (the allegations were never proven).
The columns were widely cited in liberal media, with his background at mainstream outlets like WaPo apparently lending them credibility. Xxxx was a frequent guest MSNBC’s Rachel Mancow show.
They formed part of the web of conspiracy theories and unsubstantiated claims that led to Trump's first impeachment in 2019….
The publication found that Xxxx had not disclosed that key sources for his articles were Members of the Clinton Campaign Staff and that the Steele Report was commissioned and paid for by the Clinton Campaign .
