You've got a low-major coach stepping into a P5 job. That P5 program has struggled recently, so not exactly enticing to the 5 stars who'll get their playing time regardless of where they go. Why would they choose Mizzou?

The two recruits are solid pick-ups, you just need talent to go with them, and that's going to take some time. Even so-called Mizzou fans are taking a wait and see approach with the new coach, but somehow they expect recruits to magically want to come here? Give me an effin' break.
