Can he win here. I was a big fan of the Mike Anderson and Cuonzo Martin hires when they happened. I was shocked and angry about both haith and Anderson. But if they make this hire, I won’t even bother tuning in next season. This doesn’t strike me as a hire that can bring in the talent required to win in this conference night in and night out and I feel like he’s a placeholder for 3 more years of bad basketball. I don't think Kim English is ready yet, and I think if he took this job it very well could be detrimental to his career. That being said, I would rather have Kim English than Dennis Gates. Hell, if they were going to go with Gates, I would rather have Cuonzo.

I’m sincerely hoping that somebody in the AD floated this to Thamel just to see what the reaction would be. And now I hope they are seeing it.
