Well the Ukraine war certainly has the potential to create a dystopian world.

I have gone through many oil price booms working in the oil industry only to have to sweat it out during layoffs immediately afterwards when prices collapsed. Probably a good 10 cycles since the 80's.

The world is awash in oil at the moment (at least proven oil in the ground). Supply chain just hasn't caught up with demand....and that takes a bit longer in today's environment when our production is based on unconventional oil. Throw in a war and things get shaken up a bit. I would not be buying a lot of oil stocks now but rather looking for the optimal time to sell what you might have.
