nations or care about your internal politics, lets just do business" while the other world powers keep getting bogged down with expensive wars. However, eastern Ukraine is absolutely necessary for Russia's long term security and this was a pretty good time for them to do something this dramatic. Multiple wars around the globe instigated by the West that killed millions of people makes it hard to put as much pressure on Russia today. Actions have consequences, but China is the winner in the quagmire.
