season with a 92-95 loss to #1 ranked ku, which allowed the jayhawks to go 16-0 in conference play. In five of the previous six times ku played at Missouri with a top-five ranking, they had lost.
MU took a 92-91 lead with under 2 to play on a traditional 3pt play by Arthur Johnson. But they failed to convert down the stretch, and despite scoring 27 points on the game Gilbert had a costly double dribble and didn't hit rim on his 3pt attempt at the buzzer to tie.
The loss dropped MU to 20-10 overall and 9-7 in Big 12 play after previously being ranked as high as #2 nationally.
