That is technically correct. CM cannot be fired before 5/1/22.
The only way out of the deal before 5/1/22 is a negotiated settlement. However, both sides have to want this. If this was in the works some rumor would have slipped out by now.
After 5/1 he can be fired and gets $6mm to leave. That payment is paid in either 24 equal monthly payment through April 2024 or a lump sum agreeable to both parties. The amount is offset by any new employment CM obtains, however, he is not required to make a reasonable effort to get a new job.
