The alpha stars win titles in the NBA. Long playoff series greatly reduce the chances of upsets.

Lebron, Kobe, Curry, and Jordan have well over half the titles the last 30 years. If Jordan doesn't take a few years off, that number is even higher. Others were won by free agent teams like the Celtics.
