two parts to the destruction of property
1. they should have been much better defended (Note that in Minneapolis, outside of the one precinct that they gave up, there was almost no public property damage because the State protected it)
2. Those that did destroy property should have been arrested, charged, and forced to pay restitution (or jail otherwise)
Those that were merely protesting and not causing any direct damage should have been left alone.
The exact same thing should apply to the trucker protests
