Instead of doing this at the right time, when Trump was in office, Putin decided to wait and is now dealing with Biden, who has not given Putin the ground he could have had two years ago with a flick of the wrist.
It's also correct in noting that a byproduct of this entire situation has been the reunification of a once fractured NATO. Who knows if it will hold, but Putin singlehandedly allowed Biden a way to glue all the pieces back with our allies in Europe.
