Fuller was dismissed from his role with 1 year remaining on his contract. MU agreed to pay Tim Fuller $100,000 as a buyout. His contract states "If there is any flagrant and major violation on the part of the employee to comply with the rules of the NCAA the University may terminate this contract for employment for cause and be free of financial commitment when that failure has been determined to exist."
