You think they all thought they were going to crush it their first year together? Do you think that? And then you state that the ONLY thing keeping these kids "EVEN SOMEWHAT ENGAGED" ? They played head to head with some pretty solid competition. Losing sucks, but this hard-scrabble group COMPETED. I would find that a pretty solid motivator.

And to think kids are excited about some unknown quantity like a "new coach", bullsht. They took the deal to fight for CM and they are doing it.
