You're ignoring that many people actually started going back at once mandates WERE in place. You apparently think that mandates only hurt the economy, that there's no way they could have helped the economy.
In other words, you're of the opinion that bars and restaurants would have stayed packed without mandates in place, which defies common sense. Just because you or people like you think people stayed home because they couldn't go out ignores the fact that many people would have stayed home with or without mandates.
Where I live we had no mandates and yet many restaurants and bars still went out of business. How could that be, Sal? There was no preventing people from coming to eat or drink...why didn't they? Answer: They weren't coming either way.
And this BS about masks on public transportation affecting the economy. Still no proof of that and susceptible to the same argument as above. How many more people DID USE public transportation because they felt better due to mask mandates.
