a very clear understanding between him and the AD as to what he needs to do to keep his job.

I've said it fifteen million times on here and will repeat it again: he's not going to be fired this year.

That said, I promise you DRF has expectations for next season and she's shared them with CM. He's been in this business a long time and he knows what time it is. He has to deliver next season or he'll be looking for a job come March '23.
