Just sent it to my class forum site, since some of them were staunch Trump fans.
A friend recently gave me a book about Mr. Trump, called “Too Much and Never Enough”, written by Mary Trump while he was in office. She is his only niece and has a PHD in clinical psychology, which she has also taught, so the author has cred. (Also on front cover: “How my family created the world’s most dangerous man”).
Ok, some here are already very skeptical and unreceptive. I’ve read little of the book yet but it is interesting. Yet, for me, it is rather superfluous. She describes his extreme narcissism, sociopathy,
dishonesty and inability to process information. She says “Donald’s pathologies are so complex and his behaviors so often inexplicable that coming up with an accurate and comprehensive diagnosis would require a full battery of neuropsychological tests...” And she discusses the reason for his condition, since childhood. It is his father, apparently a hideous excuse for a person, much less a parent. Unfortunately Trump’s mother became very ill around his birth and was never able to care for him properly. His father took over and imparted his negative traits to Donald. So in effect, Trump cannot really change what he is, given the psychological abuse in his very early life. It is really an extreme case of the environment dictating his persona.
So, I had an inkling, as many had, of this persona even before he was in office. As stated before, I did not consider him qualified to be a president. I have zero doubt I was correct – even when I had some agreement on his actions. And since I consider hilary a hideous human being, I could not vote for either. Sorry, but for the many who strongly feel it is our duty to vote....sometimes I disagree.
