manage to do in a combat shooting situation?

I'm sure you think an officer can fire once and the person drops like on TV.

We had a drill that involved close range shooting where, on the whistle, we drew, shot twice on one of the three targets in front of us (left, right, center), and reholstered. It was a drill from the FBI Academy.

They quit teaching that drill when stats showed officers were resorting to training in times of stress and shooting a suspect twice in a close situation and reholstering their weapon and that suspect was still able to attack officers and, in some cases, kill them.

You don't want to be killed by police? Don't do drugs and come at them with a deadly weapon.
