and his assertion that we shouldn't educate our enemies. And if you don't believe China is our enemy, you have your head up your a$$. Helping Chinese students to learn ways to screw us over in the future is just plain suicide. It's like helping the Nazis develop better poison for their gas chambers.
If Covid 19, fentanyl, inferior and often dangerous Chinese imports, and China's stated objective to become the world's foremost economic and military power haven't taught us a lesson by now, I guess we'll never learn. We "defeated" the Soviet Union, but the USSR wasn't nearly the economic or military threat of present-day China.
Of course, as long as American universities covet the almighty tuition dollars, I'm sure they'll continue to recruit Chinese students until the federal government steps in and puts a halt to it.
