As Biden was picked b/c it was evident he was clearly the one to take out Trump, Harris was selected to nail down the African American vote. Politics is a cynical business. Harris has proven the inability to win on her own - at least for the time being, but I don't see that changing much. I have no idea who the front runner might be "on the other side" in '24, may well be Latino.
