agreeing with it is irrelevant. They said what they would or would not do, and they should be held to that standard.

Biden made this an issue. Silly to do so? Yes. Was he simply being opportunistic? Likely. But he set the parameters for how job performance is to be measured for the job he wants. There is nothing wrong with holding him to the standard he set.
